A Lovely Surprise (Sonnet) by ?-Dave_Mysterious-?
Young James frolicked gaily about the house, For the calendar, being of the most accurate variety, did read, December 24th, Indeed, 'twas of Christ's mass the eve! And at last came that holy morn, Whence rosy cheeked James did open his parcel; for the cold he cared not a bean, But Ho! what's this? A crisply laid stool in that paper enveloped was seen. Oh, Mother! James pleaded tearfully, Why can't I have nice things like the other children? You ungrateful wretch, she replied, To the basemant for you and no daylight 'til years you have ten!

Unpleasant. Have you ever thought that you are stuck in what Freud described as the anal-fixation stage?

Have you ever thought that Freud's work has been largly discredited and is only quoted by uninformed, pseudo-intellectual cretins.

I love the "crisply laid stool" part. They don't make toys like they used to!

I'm not much of one to judge sonnets.. but it was interesting... I liked it. Paints the story quite clearly.
