Twilit Beach (Free verse) by Corey McHattan
Sand dune hillocks lift and flex; a supine nude peach in dusk. The sea, timid. Snow capped mountains glimmer, continental drift, accelerated: a million tiny pinprick stars. Magenta sky, clouds on fire raging cirrus fairy floss; a strung-out wispy web. Lay back, inhale the salted atmosphere, and let the overheard wash of the swell rock you to sleep.

Up the ladder: Summer Vacation
Down the ladder: red

Nice. Very nice. 9. Stark, yet brimful of imagery and atmosphere. I salute you.
