Little Somethings (Free verse) by emeraldskies
There's a lurking darkness That taints the remnants of this heart I don't know where it came from I don't want to know why... But it's there, creeping inside I desire a brightness, One I don't necessarily believe in It's the last strings of innocence And perhaps the end of childhood. I've learned too much and not enough. The future frightens, the past pains And I keep seeing it all over again... I'm tired of that life, lost in this one And starting to be desperate for.... Desperate for what? I don't know. I want to offer a deepness But...I always come off colder Is it fear, mistrust, or shallowness? Perhaps it's that nothingness And the loss of childhood optimism.

Up the ladder: Mr. Pig's Theme
Down the ladder: marriage
