Voices (Free verse) by mikehi
Who is this voice I hear, in the back of my mind. Is it me, or someone else, Teaching me right from wrong, good and bad. I know this voice as I know my own. But why is it often a stranger, someone that goes against my will. If it is someone else then Who? Is it someone I have met? Or is it someone I have known all along? Or is it someone trying to find the real me? When I lie still late at night, and there is nothing to do but listen I can hear the voice as clear as my own. The words are there, I can feel myself mouth them. The words are real to me, and have a place in my existence, I like to think that it is me. A better me trying to find his way out. Trying to make me a better person. This is a voice so loud that I wonder Do you hear this voice too?

Do you know the difference between then, and than? When you do, use it.
