Tora Bora 2002 (Free verse) by kawakurdi
The name is so familiar Sounding so close, so ancient, so complex As the cave complexes witnessing the conflict Between the latest highest most lethal modern technology And the most primitive, backward, pointless theology Yet there is a grey area between the two Images and Echoes from Tora Bora Which have such allure, such endurance, and such enigma They almost lead me to a trance And I see tears on the cheeks of history And I see stars withering in the wrath of a semi-nuclear storm And I see an Afghan child Hungry, helpless, hopeless Reminding me of my martyred little brother And of the orphans of Anfal Here comes the New Year And Tora Bora is an enigma Resisting to be opened by daisy bombs And Tora Bora is an echo Reaching beyond the boundaries of history. And Tora Bora is the most advanced form of death Which makes the caves laugh at the madness of mortal man. 25/12/2001

Up the ladder: Human Heart
Down the ladder: Redemption

"And then Alexander the great severed the Gordian Knot with one fell Swoosh of his sword, and all of Persia opened up to him" Socrates quietly explained to Plato one grey afternoon in November-423 BC

This is as goofy as the last one. It has no umph because it has no valid experience behind it. Who cares?
