It Seemed Like Forever Again (Free verse) by Jimbo
March 2, 2003 ~ It Seemed like Forever Again ~ So much we learn as years roll on Tomorrow was not . . . Just another day Nor was it like yesterday ~ I nearly held my breath so tight Failure and success A point so fine So much like poetry music and art ~ Wanting to try To not remain speechless Suddenly realizing days are hard to let go It’s nice to hold on to lovely things ~ Next time next time I thought Sitting there quietly Words would not come to me Swallowing your every word . . . a couple of short hours ~ Somehow I imagined It would be more difficult For so long thinking it would be in death The next time you saw me ~ I’ve never been a rich man Silence of stars and sea are what I’ve known Happiness had come once again And my head was filled with gold ~ There is so much mystery Within human hearts The dreams that lie ahead New friend old friend ~ Casual meeting Had I found such joy again? Giving and forgiving . . . forgiven I knew you and you knew me ~ Trying to look past you was difficult My stare was close to misty space With kindly presence near It seemed like forever again ~ Thom
