Recompense (Free verse) by Birdman42s
A safe haven I'd like to be A bright star lighting up your sky Perhaps an old majestic tree Where you'll find shelter warm and dry If ever your delightful song turns sad And you think you can talk to none I'll have my own refreshing words to add My dear friend you'll never be alone If ever in a lonely night Your doubt inevitably overtakes I'll be your guiding light All the way until darkness breaks And while my days cautiously unfold I'll accept God's amazing present There will always be beauty to behold When I look into your heart my friend
