Angel Cager (Lyric) by OneFingerAnswer
Wings clipped and legs tied Asked to speak she only sighed Mud and tears smeared across her face The angel couldn^t leave that place Arms bound she cowered from you Rope burned writs black and blue Under trees bleeding in their shade Cramped in your cage she laid Treasures you kept just for fun But too scared to show any one Their beauty you destroyed Wasting their worth, while you toyed The things you kept confined Thinking they made you so refined You showed off your power and wealth While pleasing only yourself When you lost them and they were free You lost your power and bowed to me Now you don^t want what you deserve Taking orders from those you forced to serve Perhaps after a few years of working the mine You^d be more willing to share your wine, Lose all of your damn self-lust, And offer the peasant a share of the crust

Down the ladder: glue

a nice sentiment, but I couldn't get into it as a poem/song. the rhythm/cadence felt awkward, and it didn't really move me in any manner.

I don't get it man. Surely worthless peasants shall be deemed unfit to partake of the crusts of the elders?

I like it. And not only that, I think I may even 'get it'.
