What am I? (Free verse) by Voth269
I am close to all things that accept me, I come in many colors shapes and sizes, I hear your secrets, I know your fears, I heal you when you're hurt, I comfort you when you're sad, I will hold you when you're lonely, I strengthen you when you're weak. I am near you until you push me away, I may be more than one thing to you. What am I? That can be simple enough, For you know what I am, But maybe the question is who am I? The answers short. Am I a parent? Or maybe a brother, Could that be a sister? How about a neighbor? What about other family? Or an animal? I am all these things. I take all of these forms and more, For I am a friend.

You must have spent years in an underground cliche factory to come up with such a wondrously tedious sentiment.
