Little Miracle (Free verse) by ainesmith
I remember as though it were just yesterday, the first time I saw you. Tiny, pale, wrinkled through my tears. The pain of only moments earlier a far away dream. And finally, when we were alone, I lay there in the quietness. Watching, breathing, quiet. Afraid to close my eyes and miss one second of your beauty. Sleep tried hard to drag me away but I resisted. Whispered soothing words, and cradled you My Son.

Up the ladder: crack of light
Down the ladder: Rainy Days
