March (Free verse) by kashewg
Stains of scarlet she found on her brow followed by a deep blue that seemed to transcend her face And bleed into her eyes of the same hue. Such is the pain Marie could never feel, The aching she had long forgotten and pushed away every time she gently rolled her head toward the East, searching the horizon for the rising sun. And each day, the blazing sun slid from behind the Earth to shed light on all of God's creatures save Marie, hidden in the shadows of her darkened chambers. And as the sun hung above her world, Marie resented her earlier wish for it to rise, but it never relented, burning a hole through that which shrouded her wounds. But the sun's reign could not endure eternity, and it fell to the temptation of the hazy dusk.
