Rained All Night in Xenia (Lyric) by wilmayne
The Fairground is down Lights out in town Firemen asking for gas lights Looking for life in this night Children in church Cars screech as trees lurch Choir sings for grace With terror on their face Bricks shoot from walls Screams echo down the halls As her house comes tumbling down She runs where shelter can be found He saw it and closed his garage door Ripped from it's hinges and is no more He stares in wide-eyed disbelief Anchored to a metal tool box for relief Glass flying through the air Walmart shoppers gape in despair Parking lot turned into a scrap yard As a severe storm warning hit hard Trapped, pried from their cars Laceration victims fill ER's This is tornado belt reality Say a prayer for the fatality It happened before Back in 1974 The citizens are sturdy though They'll rebuild and won't go This is home.
