To My Grandfather (Free verse) by psychedelic
I never knew you I wish I did But today's meeting tells me You've at last found your peace I wish I could tell you to open your eyes And look at me once more with pride But all I can do is stare at your calm face Through the casket's clear glass, my mind in a daze Your spirit is in His hands Journeying to another land Where pain is never more And in eternal grace things grow Yet you never really left For as my tears fell I felt your gentle hand on my shoulder Holding me up so well Telling me to be brave And to never fear For though apart, your spirit Will always be here I miss you, my dear I wish to see you once more I hope you will be there to welcome me When I reach heaven's door.

Up the ladder: pinky swear
Down the ladder: Praise
