Quiet (Free verse) by garywotr
In the rush of late-day chores I paused As the warm western light dimmed To twilight's cool glow over the water. The cares of the moment departed, Borne on light breezes To a place I don't know. The azure and gold Of the summer's warm sky Dimmed and blended And shadows fell low. Cool greys, golds, and soft orchids In dusky display Are the quietest colors I know. The beat of the night is about to begin, But for now, It's quiet, quiet, quiet.

Up the ladder: Cosmic Imbalance
Down the ladder: Vespers and Cobwebs
