The masquerade (Free verse) by vamos_tuzos
A masquerade ball initiated by a bell. Faces hidden for fear of discovery, Any sign of hope given in recovery. Falsification of grandure and misleading, souls searching for love and reading. Attempts to hide and to lose reason, songs rythmical beat causing physical treason. Sensual movements of bodies touching, mouths open lips pressing and hands clutching.

Up the ladder: Ivory, slaves and gold
Down the ladder: let me lie

short and to the point.
it perfectly describes the general mood of the event, though still vague in a "you'd have to know to know" kind of way.
