Today (Free verse) by necroscope7
Of all the todays I?ve had I do think today is the best Though tomorrow?s today may well match it Then again perhaps if taken as yesterdays This yesterday to be Does not compare to the yesterdays That spread out before me Ah, but tomorrow tis the sad one How many a tomorrow now have I let slip away? I know not how many more await me And I cannot seem to keep tomorrows from becoming todays. Todays of course become yesterdays So I can only have one at a time But it is always today and I?ll never run out So today is not so bad as tomorrow And the yesterdays I?ve collected How many now there are And always more to add As I lose each tomorrow But I was born with just so many tomorrows And no matter how I try I cannot seem to keep from using them And what will I do when I have no more of those? So I look not to tomorrow, it is to depressing And yesterday is nice to look back on But it would take me a lifetime to look at them all So in yesterday I only visit But today is always here Always comforting So in today I?ll live Yes of all the todays I?ve had I think today is the best
