Awakening (Free verse) by Sterling5583
I lay in my bed, in a state of lassitude. In a lackluster room, and melancholy mood. I'm feeling depressed, and that life is irrelevant. When, in the labyrinth of my mind, there's an extraordinary event. The image of a girl I begin to see. This is not meant as a lampoon, she is special to me. My love for her is strong and irrefutable. In the jargon of love, she is beyond beautiful. Her smile is like a pinball machine; it lights up the room. It has stopped me from looking forward to my tomb. I adore her for her judicious mind. She is truly unique, one of a kind. This wonderful girl has kindled my spirit. But that celestial body, I would never be near it. If there is to be any hope, I must lose my laconic attitude. And also abandon my life of voluntary solitude. When times become rough, I think of her to cope. Her optimistic attitude reminds me, that there is always hope. It is to her and that pinball smile I dedicate this to. I have found the love of my life, and I hope she feels that way too.
