I Lost My Way (Free verse) by abbaslittleclingon
All the places I'd have gone had I not lost my way All the threats I heard without a word All the grueling tries at change All the social skills I've mirrored All the secret years of shame All the times I've self-injured All the vows I've spoke in vain The spirit within that is never cured All the voices of disdain The soul born already severed All the puzzles of the day All the fantasies that lured All the prayers I should have prayed All the faces that have leered All my mixed up mind has feigned All the mirages I endured Since the day I lost my way....

Up the ladder: Mistakes
Down the ladder: Sent from Above
