Spirit Dance (Free verse) by Mary
Around fireside rings amid rhythmic toms a lone Shaman shuffles the dance of life. Guttural chants sung in spirit tongues rise up, then drift away on blue-moon winds mingled with purifying scents of burnt sage. Wisdom sought on the shore of unseen horizons is found; clarified by shared visions with an eagle who soars between earthly realms. Encircled within our ring, entranced by his mind's eye, we await his healing touch. Copyright 2002 Mary
