Baby Steps (Free verse) by SpiffyDoo
You feel so good like a rose petal on a rainy day which is finally sprouting out of the ground. The little green stubble poking through is almost nothing. It has a potential energy that holds the rest of the world in it's small body. You will be here soon. Reverse me into the ground and push hard. Rip the petals off and pull out my stem. I am almost you. Waiting to be born. The few roots left underground cannot breathe with ease. The slow process will go fast for me. My tall neck can see the other sky reaching for me. Numerous times you will see the sky...it'll be all the same. Don't look too hard, save some ...remember me.
