Dad feels like he is being tortured to death His mouth is very dry His body is sore and tired The pain is in his stomach, and comes and goes He can't even turn over He's struggling with not being able to finish his work Doctor is increasing the strength of the fentanyl patch He says he cannot take lives He says the end is near He says changes in breathing pattern can be alarming, but are normal Breathing rattle can also happen The breathing changes don't usually distress the patient There is a medication that can help If dad gets restless they can administer Ativan We discussed the hallucinations Doctor recommended stimulation like movement or music There is medication but it's probably not indicated
