Year of the Cucumber (Free verse) by Dovina
If only I were a cucumber no brain to think no need for thought feel with feet in soil water and mulch absorb the sun mix with carbon wallah – food no way to wander no wanderlust just live where planted grow blooms in season seeds for children provide their food in a luscious green shroud then die without fear born without crying

Up the ladder: for sharon
Down the ladder: Blanket Weed

I stumbled a little at "feel"/"feel with"... flows better without to me. (why wallah vs. voila? If you were a cucumber? :) )

"no wanderlust" might be "no lust for wander"?

More food for thought than I expected.

Wallah is an Arabic word similar to the French Voila.
cucumber - food - food for thought.

Enjoyed the thought and imagery. Loved the last line.
