The Last Time

If it's the last time that it sets, If it burns out in the west, At the least I can rest Knowing that I've done my best From the first rays of dawn I turn on and then I am gone. No one needs to know About all the things that I'm doing wrong. I'll dissolve and decompose In supernatural death throes Sopping with life's energy When the Eagle comes for me If it's the last fire I set And if my tongue burns on her breast I am willing to bet My heart will be torn from my chest From the first rays of dawn We are ablaze in all of the fun We're always ready to go Because we know that it isn't wrong We will fall like acid snow Ashes for the wind to blow When this freedom fight is done We fall back into the One
