Fear (Free verse) by The Bard
FEAR Ahh my old friend, Once again you are here. I feel your cold hands, caressing my heart, dear. Which of life's miserable pleasures, will you be robbing today? Strange friend that you are, You frolic and I pay. At long last, I understand, how I can make you go. I pick up my pen And let the words flow. Let it all pour forth, the disappointment, the pains. The uncertainties and doubts, which hide the joy of one's gains. Ahh my friend you bode long, but my friend, you bode ill. Long after it was time to depart, you lingered on still. Sorry my friend, your host I am no longer. The flood of words from my pen has made me more resistant, much stronger. So my old friend now you must look for another with which to abide. Those long cold nights you'll not pass at my side.
