Requiem For a Snail (Free verse) by Heidegger
Oh hapless snail. Forgive me, but you would have eaten up the tender petals and my beautiful flowers would have been ruined. My beautiful flowers. It was for their sake, for their sake I plucked you out of your heaven and crushing your happiness made your death. Dear God- We commend into Thy mercy All other Thy servants Which are departed hence from us And now do rest in the sleep of peace. Grant unto them, we beseech Thee, Thy mercy and everlasting peace.

Up the ladder: False Memory
Down the ladder: There sits a chair
