Said The Darkness (Free verse) by dclark
"Hold it!" a voice echoed... "Who's going to believe you?" "The state of mind that's dreaming?" "Please, sit back down." The crowd becomes quiet. They slowly file in reverse, leaving the Chapel empty, dark, and quiet. "...open your eyes, mother..." A small boy pulled from unconsciousness... Above his bed stood his mother, and father, they both repeated; " We are your children, another memory we'll need to erase. Are you prepared to be real? TO BE ALIVE? We have organized your diner, I hope you like friends. We've made soup of them all." "Shh..." said the darkness.
