5 Point Something on the Richter Scale (Free verse) by jessicazee
That thud, our freaky midwest earthquake a few of us felt or heard, that real Ozark after dark shock wave came all of a sudden in the middle of the night and I wasn't surprised or afraid, the cars hit my house all the time in the middle of the night, and I always said it was an angry faultline, I mean, just look at us! riding on the top layer of dirt with our heaviness, no wonder our underneath wants to crack

Up the ladder: Wish I was there...
Down the ladder: Milwaukee Haiku

that was a remarkable poem
At once I read it
it was gentle and plain
unwavering under whose cautious hand
against the the known intention in any hand
it was full of feelings that flow from line to another
to form the shape in the breast of the man
