Heroes to the End (Lyric) by sliver
Thousands of valiant heroes, Our brothers, sisters and friends Have faught an ugly battle, Vowed to see it to it's end. Their bright red American blood Now saturates the sand, As we send more to take their places In a violent foreign land. Today we thank the families Those still left behind, The ones who live each day with loss The deep, heart wrenching kind. There is no consolation Worthy of all your tears I only hope your pain will soften With healing through the years.

Technically, L-11 each day with loss

L-12 -that's hard to justify.

Otherwise, Amen

It's poets.org. Then click on Highlights (left column)Then click "poets forum" in the article beginning.

The video is: Robert Hass on the Gift Economy.

I'll try to find a direct link.

line 4 - vowed to see its' end, and took vows to see its' end, and vowed to see it's end..'it' and 'it's' is a little too much
line 5 - drop the red, blood holds the colour you need

Very poignant :)
