My Courtney (Free verse) by secretlyvulnerable
I have a secret that I hold deep inside No matter how far I go and how hard I try I constantly feel on display The stares I get as I walk by With every whisper I hear, an internal sigh And I only wish I could turn away Surrounded by few who could understand rape I find only one to whom my secrets escape As time goes by bonds build that won't break I have her by my side through every mistake and every night as I lie in bed I thank God for my dearest friend...

you started off so well with two verses of 3 lines, and ended with two lines of thankfullness and love. The third verse could be cut to 3 lines also keeping the original rhyme scheme...just a suggestion, you can turn a nice phrase
