Owl Eyes (Free verse) by MacFrantic
She's got big ol' owl eyes, Smells liked sweet grilled onions, And smiles when she ought to cry. "The stage is too small," she says. She's a riot though- Loves courage and formal apologies, Gave me a swingset for my birthday. I watched her chase pigeons in the yard. Oh, she's got big ol' owl eyes, Saucers that bind my tongue. And for that I'd be wrong Just to make her right.

Up the ladder: I'm in love
Down the ladder: From pains inside
