A Prophet (Free verse) by Dovina
A secret lay evaded in wait for such as him, a quite specific knowledge gap efficiently disowned. He felt uneasy, unsure why, wrote a poem to work it out, to set it straight within himself, and sparked a change in me. He produced a neat example, reminding me of what it’s like to get it right, and really right; his process turned to cure. The thing he deftly clarified, I recognized as mine as well, which worked against denial. He’d made his feelings mine. I learned a secret, found a cure, a specific failure rectified, enlightened an experience, had the thrill of recognizing: “That’s Right, and Really Right!”

Up the ladder: ADDICTION
