His Maiden (Free verse) by Skamper
he leaned across the black marble table top I knew when did this happen the skin fell from me he knew eyes blackened by nature secured the knowledge I thought to shield he drifted through me his invasion was expected and deserved no matter - I bled anyway and loved him still I lay - the black marble shifting under skin he strokes he strays his ugliness to the pieces left untouched eyes burned by devils released the courage I thought to bear he devoured me his feasting was lasting and agonising no matter - I came anyway and loved him still

Up the ladder: life between lines
Down the ladder: Tropical afternoon
