Notion (Free verse) by MacFrantic
Unrelenting love? What a notion! The romantic illusion of past, present, and eternity. It is good to find, I'm sure. But all's well that ends in due time and with conviction. Are we all novelists? Memories transcribe from one so often faded to another. And lost in this monstrosity is the withered word of a hopeless prince. For he has no maiden and a fleeting breath.

Up the ladder: Nothing can we take away
Down the ladder: this is what I see
