The Fantasy (Prose Poem) by ObsequiousGem
On my knees, my heart stays true, here I remain to bear my soul to you, I willingly obey to keep you by my side, I can't oppose you, my hands are tied. You lower your hand, to touch my face, suddenly your slap is put in it's place, my cheek stings as if on fire, turning red, I fear your displeasure, this anger I dread. I won't lower my face, I won't shed one tear, I wait for you still, Your approval I must hold dear, With these words, I know that I failed your task, "Why must you choose to disobey me?" You ask. A small part of me dares me to be defiant, to only try, our passion is greater, but to disobey - I'd rather die, I answer you with a plead to forgive me, Master, please, I chose correctly, I know it's right as my heart agrees. Though punishment is chosen to teach me to not forget, to anger my Master, my lover, is why I fear and fret, To see Master smile and be pleased is my real desire, to be the only one, His Slave, who sets his soul on fire.

Up the ladder: Walking
Down the ladder: Rushed into the blur
