August (Free verse) by Muffinly
Now I'm hydrated One foot in front of the other To the corner store In Tenancingo I see Christ the King over my right shoulder Towering over the city I think I will just give up on trying to empathize A simple "Hola" will have to do Yes I love people But I only say so to confuse And when no one else speaks Spanish It's easy to do So pull out the coffee maker, friends We will drink to our demise And bury our vanilla dreams Beneath blankets of surprise And try to fly home unaffected

Up the ladder: Smalltalkers
Down the ladder: War

mmm...not as good as the first one I read...not terrible, just doesn't make me jump up and say halle-fucking-luja (which really wouldn't be that hard right now cause I've got an 18 pack of High Life and the George Strait Box Set.
