Conversation Piece (Free verse) by timfowler
I speak to you: You echo: return, replenish; Ground that is so gained, so reclaimed makes the gulf between us the merest breath of air. I hear you: You spoke: discovered, dispelled; walked the high tide's narrow mark, brought doubt to break on rocks, shining with salt spray. You touch me: I, fulfilled, freed by childhood's gentle candour, an essence drop by drop, will remember tomorrow.

Down the ladder: Life is freedom

Nice, The :'s and the ;'s are distracting especially in the 1st & 2nd lines. Maybe they have some cryptic meaning I'm to obtuse to understand. In the last stanza the prep. phrase is so long I forgot what the subject of the sentence was. Awkward. Nice but awkward.
