So there is a garden and a ladder (Prose Poem) by somemorepoetry
Ok. So there are these two guys. They are dying. Now let's assume that
the one of them is an actor and some people could think he is just
faking it--he is an all right actor but he wears a wig and is overweight
so he never gets any good parts. Now when the wife writes a letter to
her parents she will say that it was accidental and that there was a
ladder but really there was never a ladder it was in the garage but that
is another matter. And now who would ever think it is fall and the
leaves are still on the trees but nothing really leaves. So a gardener
told me that she is planting something new because she thinks it will
run through winter and come out on the other side and is it poetry to
think that it will root and it will come back out and songs will play
when we meet again? Oh my God we will meet again? Am I seeing now with
eyes or with nothing else but -- ok, so there are these two guys. And I
saw the one guy buying a dirty magazine the other day, and he saw me
looking at him from the corner of my eye and pretending not to. And he
slid away shaking his head. Now I think he is laughing about that with
his friend whose wife had a ladder because who really cares that they
found him with his pants down or that he was in a motel room and no one
can explain what happened except for poison? Just don't look when they
show the pictures he has family who read the newspaper. Now we both
understand that it is time to accuse someone of something. It is dark
outside. It is falling too. We will never see the roadway when we try to
drive. But we will try.
