Grass Stains (Prose Poem) by thepinkbunnyofdoom
Going out on the town tonight, just to paint it red, and empty out onto my canvas, this pallet in my head. So don't be surprised to see murals in morning. Lining the sidewalks and street signs of this city. I'm emptying my head of everything I've ever thought of and then some. Tonight there will be graffiti and cigarette butts, my blood and guts, littering the same sights you've seen for years. I'm tired of this feeling that everything is black or white, and I'm not. So I'm leaving you this ration, of my rational mind, and tomorrow we'll see if I need it back. This place might clean up pretty if I made a mess first. So pay no attention to these riots and other possible reactions, as I rid myself of these damn distractions. I guess I'll see you some time the following evening, because I'm not sleeping until sometime after dawn. Unless the night shallows me, and I'm gone, I expect to wake up naked with grass stains, on a neighbor's lawn. Empty as the conversations, we' re sure to have. Making all of this worth it.
