ugly parade (Free verse) by New Life Drug
I feel sick The streets are laced with black diamonds They rot us when summer comes I thirst for beauty while This ugly desert will not gush its rivers There is a place Where I feel like I melt A touch of hot sparkling root beer in the sun Surrounded by green trees Everything sinks in I can smell the leather I can smell the leaves Take away the signs and the metal It's all trash, everything exposed Everyone's face is a nightmare We die trying to mop up the floors Of our own disasters Until there is no space left to crawl Until blood-ridden cement takes a toll We must all pay, but to be free Is to climb this mountain Covered in shade To fall into comas of grassy blades Lick the lips of the sweet landscape The ones that are hidden away

Up the ladder: Loves Struggle

There are probably happy people somewhere. You just don't know where they hang out. They want it that way.
