Unfinished Warrior (Free verse) by PodPoet
You return to me An unfinished warrior Through hazy sunshine Of months of regret And a sorrow all my own You come back Strong as ever As if your absence Never was As if I never hated you I reach out To feel the chimera And it is real How long will it last? I don't care to know For I see something else in this now Something more...carnal And it states a hunger To such a degree And with such ferociousness I will not reject it Wash over me with abandon I am an empty vessel you fill And I will be here until you leave For or against my will

Up the ladder: Don't Ask, Don't Tell
Down the ladder: The Dark Poet

Ferociousness is cumbersome. Especially as the rest of your poem is full of simple, short words. Try ferocity.
I really like it. I really do. Don't know exactly why.
