Toes (Free verse) by BadPoet
TOES I'm glad I've got toes Two rows Of five, just enough. It sure must be tough On those With a 'six' and a 'four' Or two dozen or more. . They're best at the front Not the side Of the foot Which would then be too wide And beside That your shoe Would look funny on you. . They're no use perched high on the instep Or by Themselves, Spaced all around And an inch off The ground. . If all on one foot they'd Been put Nicely displayed But .... With design so misguided We'd look Very lopsided. . I'm glad they are there Just where My foot stops A toe pops Out, with four spare I've A total of five. .

Up the ladder: Waiting for the Doctor
Down the ladder: lost

You just need a vague reference to death and pain and this would be perfect.

This is a cute poem! Ever tried the children's market? Get an illustrator, and you could be the next Dr. Seuss! =-)

"and beside/That your show" I think would work better as "and beside that/your shoe"; The break between by and themselves doesn't scan well. All in all, I have to say I love this poem. :)

Profound. I am sure many doctors will benefit from this knowledge.

wow.
it was a lot more entertaining than i could have expected, and though i've got a foot phobia, i enjoyed it.
as a poem it's well rounded, though the fetish frightens me personally.
