creeping up from behind me,
if I turn my head
to watch what is
coming that is following me home,
am I looking at the

the present
or
the future

The past. History is just a sample, not fate.
The past is dirtier and quite a bit more smelly; the future has flying cars and onepiece spandex suits for everybody.
