Delusions Of A Peaceful Place (Free verse) by Stacy Stewart
Echos of rambling outsiders arms wide open; a hush of silence plagues us. While we rest on an old dirty couch chasing the dragon. Our minds filled with clatter delusions of a peaceful place. Blood trickling down, the dirty syringe passed with no saint hood of rejecting the feelings. We tremble, I yearn for more Mesmerized with a glassy, waxed over stare. Dancing nostrils flare to the perfect scintillating anticipation. Delicious purge; surging through my skin, falling...falling... to a shrewd world, underlying a victory lost to a bittersweet defeat.

Up the ladder: Letters to Silence
Down the ladder: Ode to the Bun

I can imagine it. Good title.

I think this is poetic and potentially potent.

"a victory lost to a bittersweet -- defeat."

I'm not sure what the victory would have been. As I read it, the poem is solely about defeat.

A bad trip, a delusion, a hoped-for victory lost.
