My body shakes and I am bleeding My head is aching and my anger - seething Don’t believe me when I say That I am perfectly okay. I’ve cut myself in many places But from you I will hide the traces Of anything that seems to hurt me I don’t ever want you to see. You have done too much to help So I cover the bruises and the welts That I have self-inflicted I know I have a sickness. Unable to look you in the eye I hide my pain inside Unable to admit what I need I cannot do what I agreed.
