Tiredness (Free verse) by kawakurdi
I am very tired. I don’t know why This ignorance makes me even more tired As if I am a reincarnation of a former life Whose steps have gone limp Whose looks have become blunt Whose heart is depressed like an Icelander In the last day of summer and the first day of autumn At nigh the lullaby of loneliness does not let me sleep The arms of isolation do not let me calm down During the day the see-saw of exile does not let me learn to walk Love! You can strike your blow too and disappear Cold iron cannot care less about another hammer I will freeze in this lake of estrangement A nameless Iceland Waiting for a sunshine Which has for long followed a flock of clouds and gone astray Has this sunshine become a rain of rays in the occupiers’ land? Or has it become a mist and melted away in the faraway oceans? Now it is only the thread of a dream Like blood tissues, binding me, you and the land together Perhaps in a dream road, a dreamland, a dream ruins We will meet each other again Then please return my greetings Please do not give me cold looks What can cold winds do to an ice lake? Perhaps the sunshine of your eyes Will let my icy heart melt away Like an Icelander whose heart snaps From the joy of the sudden return of spring. I am very tired. I don’t know why This ignorance exhausts me even more.

Interesting, 'snaps' seems wrong somehow. Do try and cheer up.
