My Search (Free verse) by Bobjim
I walk across the mountain-tops, To reach the highest peak. The deepest precipice to find, That I was told I'd meet. For years now I've been searching, New treasures for the mind, Began at times to wonder, If any more I'd find. But for every mountain-top I scale, There's a hundred more to climb. An endless source of bounty, On which to feed the mind. I keep climbing higher mountains, More dangerous ones to seek. But the precipices that I find, Are more fearful than the peaks. One day when I grow older, Too tired to reach the top, I'll slide on down the steepest slope, And at the bottom stop.

Up the ladder: Murder
Down the ladder: Judgement
