Ghost Of Angels (Free verse) by Caducus
once upon a time long long ago I was someone strong in love you know. My life was completed, and for once in my life all my sadness was defeated. I wanted the world to see, that I was blind that someone loved me for heart, and mind. (Chorus 1) why damn it God why today? did you have to choose my Angel to fly away? Leaving me with pictures which ravage and taunt me a ghost in framed scriptures to always haunt me. Life goes on as the old saying goes. A life in thorns Too far from the rose. So why damn it God Why why why? Did you give me love and then let it die? I go back to the field we used to lay in. Where as adults we’d love, and children we’d play in. Leaves fall on where we fell dreams lay rusting in the wishing well. I lay down where she’s scattered. Wanting to be haunted by her face, knowing she was all that mattered and that heaven used to be this place. (Chorus 2) Why damn it God did you let her die? Lend me an Angel and teach me to fly. To break my wings, just when I soared, to watch her fall in the arms of the Lord as I fell from grace to this living hell.

Up the ladder: the stone
Down the ladder: Footsteps
