Cold Indifference (Free verse) by cuddlytiger17
Swallowing my despondency I conjure up a smile Telling you it's all aright But I can only stay awhile You absently nod your head Oblivious to my dismay Place a cold kiss upon my cheek And fervently clear the way Forcing myself to react I lift my leadened feet Knowing this to be the last time My heart shall ever beat.
