save (Free verse) by calliope
break open the stable doors, trip over the oven, let out the uncooked animals before the butcher shows up. it's time to share freedom with our brethren, let them explore the world without the fear of death always hanging one breath away dangling.

Up the ladder: the birds are still here
Down the ladder: Cool car!!

Unfortunately, the "uncooked" beef is in wait for the fire. The butcher deed is done already.... if only our love can become love beyond the self then maybe freedom can grow to mean something in us for others.
Good poem can only fit in a world transformed free from strive and competition
