Run Material Girl (Free verse) by singinkygal
Diamonds, roses, fine wine and pearls she's the envy of all the girls romance hangs on every word of any story from her lips that's heard Too good to be true it probably is due to the bruises he puts on her that she hides underneath the expensive fur She knows he's sorry with his tokens though an apology is never spoken Her dad was this way its all she knows now her husband this is how love goes That material girl will be alright because her Egyptian sheets keep her warm at night why won't she leave him and just be free Because her oldest son is only three Hes started hitting her too because thats what his dad has done I guess he is his father's son Who would want to trade to polyester and cotton from a life of satin and lace I would if it would mean taking off the dark glasses and showing the world my face I don't understand No it isn't easier said than done Just pick up and go take your boy and run
